Frosty Lemon Supreme Recipe

Frosty Lemon Supreme Recipe - 8 servings


1/2 cup crushed graham cracker crumbs

2 egg whites*

1/3 cup very cold water

1/3 cup nonfat dry milk

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup granulated sugar


Line a 9-inch pie plate with 1/4 cup of the graham cracker crumbs. Beat egg whites, water and milk to stiff peaks. Add egg yolk, lemon zest and lemon juice, beat 1 minute, gradually adding sugar. Spoon into pie plate. Sprinkle remaining crumbs over top. Freeze at least 2 hours.

Note : When selecting a brand of graham crackers, be sure to read the label. Heart-healthy brands use unsaturated oils such as safflower, soybean, cottonseed, rapeseed or canola. Do not buy a brand that uses saturated fat such as lard, palm oil or coconut oil.

*Uncooked eggs have been the sauce of salmonella. If you are unsure of the quality of your eggs, avoid recipes that use them raw.
