Veal Italian Style Recipe

Veal Italian Style Recipe - 4 servings


2 large tomatoes, diced

1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil

2 garlic cloves, finely minced

1 teaspoon fresh oregano leaves or 1/8 teaspoon diced

2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves

Salt and pepper to taste

1 pound veal, sliced very thin and pounded extra-thin

2 ounces very thinly sliced part-skim mozzarella cheese


Prepare the grill. In a saucepan, combine tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, oregano and basil. Heat just to boiling (do not allow to boil). Remove from heat, add salt and pepper and adjust seasonings. Cover to keep warm. Grill veal over hot coals, 3 inches from heat, for 2-3 minutes. Turn when juices begin to form on top of meat. Cover with cheese, grill until cheese melts and veal is done. Top with sauce.
