Marinated Flank Steak Recipe

Marinated Flank Steak Recipe - 8 servings


1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce

1/2 cup vermouth

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 1/2 teaspoons unseasoned meat tenderizer (optional)

2 garlic cloves, sliced

1 piece of fresh gingerroot, thinly sliced

2 pounds flank steak, all visible fat removed


Combine soy sauce, vermouth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, meat tenderizer, if using, garlic, and gingerroot. Arrange flank steak in a 9 x 13 x 2-inch glass casserole. Pour sauce over top, cover with plastic wrap. Marinate in refrigerator for 2 to 24 hours. Drain marinade. Grill over hot coals for 6 to 8 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness. Remove to a cutting board. Slice on the diagonal.
