Strawberry Preserves Recipe - 1/2 pintIngredients: 3 cups strawberries, sliced 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 2 teaspoons cornstarch combined with 1 tablespoon water 1/4 teaspoon almond extract 1/4 teaspoon fresh lemon juice |

Method: In a saucepan over low heat, bring berries to a boil, stirring frequently. Add sugar and reduce heat, simmer 25-30 minutes. Gradually add cornstarch mixture, simmer 10 minutes. Stir in almond extract and lemon juice, simmer 10-15 minutes. Cool. Preserves may be frozen. |
