Saffron Rice Recipe

Saffron Rice Recipe - 4 servings


1 cup uncooked Asian-style white rice

1 1/2 cups Chicken Stock

1/2 white onion, diced

1/4 teaspoon saffron powder


Pour rice into a medium saucepan. Rinse with fresh water 2-3 times, or until water runs clear. After the final rinse, drain as much water as possible (it is not necessary to drain every drop). Bring rice, stock and onion to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Add saffron powder. Cover and cook 5-10 minutes, or until moisture is absorbed and rice is fluffy. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes.
