Steamed Mussels with Wine and Garlic Recipe - 6 servings


4 pounds fresh mussels

3/4 cup dry white wine

3 garlic cloves


Scrub mussel shells with a wire brush. Remove and discard beards. Rinse mussels in cold water, discarding broken or open mussels. Place mussels in a steamer, add wine and garlic. Cover tightly, steam 6-8 minutes, or just until shells open. Drain. Serve hot or cold.
